We are happy to report the successful commissioning of our burner systems at EnviroFocus Technologies’ new battery recycling facility in Tampa, Florida. WEC was awarded the contract to supply burner systems and controls in 2010. Equipment consisted of the latest in advanced oxygen-enhanced combustion technology for the smelting furnace, conventional burner systems for holding and refining vessels, and complete PLC based control systems with graphic interfaces. We would like to thank EnviroFocus for letting us participate in their contribution to the environment by recycling our resources, and wish them much success with the new plant!

Success! Starting in fall of 2009, Wechsler was hired to provide services to assist with finding, and relocating an idle biomass energy plant to the client’s site. The selected 32 MW (110 mm Btu/hr) thermal output plant was moved from its original site in Minnesota, relocated, and adapted for use in an eastern Canada sawmill. Wechsler’s scope included deconstruction planning, process design, engineering the adaption, and reconstruction planning. Since the original equipment supplier was no longer in existence, Wechsler provided the field expertise to commission the plant. The project time line from take-down to completion of commissioning in September 2010 was 10 months. We are happy to have had the privilege to work on this successful project and appreciate our client’s remarkable push to get it completed in such a short time frame and make it a success!
